The Osiana Women’s Coop or as it’s known in Nevsehir, S.S Osiana Urgup Kadin Girisim Uretim ve Isletme Kooperatif was founded after the economic crisis in Turkey shut down the education center that had been financed by the government.

The teacher of the shuttered education center established the coop to help the local ladies continue to keep regional traditions alive.  The women come together to share sewing, embroidery techniques and sell what they create, providing economic opportunities in this remote area of central Turkey.

They recently welcomed the first group of OAT travelers, sharing tea and cookies before displaying their beautiful handiworks.
