Lukosi village in Hwange is home to St. Mary’s Primary and a very active community.

We’ve constructed 2 “summerhouses” which are round thatched structures with open sides which have become the central meeting place of the community for meetings, meals and other events.

 

 

In order to support the women of the community we funded a workshop – Home Finance and Small Business Development together with a sewing course.  We purchased manual sewing machines, crocheting and knitting needles and supplies to start them on small income generating projects.  They will be making table cloths and napkins to supply the lodges in the Hwange area, thus allowing them to earn an income and support their families, school and community.
