Established in 1964, Festus Gonteb Primary School began at the current site known as Standard 1 before relocating to the Horo Church premises in Mondesa. Originally called Inboorling Gemeenskap Skool, it primarily served underprivileged communities.
The school was founded by Mr. Festus Gonteb, whose commitment to education led to the institution being renamed in his honor.

Today, it welcomes learners from various ethnic backgrounds including Otjiherero, Khoekhoegowab, and Oshiwambo, among others.
It is a full-time government school under the Swakopmund Circuit of the Erongo Regional Council and adheres to the Ministry of Education curriculum, with 1234 students and 40 teachers, 6 support staff and 1 librarian.

We look forward to helping this school and it’s students achieve a better learning environment for all it’s learners.
