With a lack of education, opportunity, and attention, a high number of children in this simple and poor area of Salvador frequently enter the underworld of drugs and violence.

Conscious Art Cultural Group offers an alternative to the children that live in the Saramandaia community. The center offers boxing, percussion, circus, dance and arts. The community supports the organization, but because of the poverty level, cannot contribute much financially.

Grand Circle Foundation funded boxing and sports equipment; musical instruments; and art and dance supplies. We provided screen-printing equipment as a means for the students to create art work, generate income and learn about business management. We also renovated the floors and provided air conditioners and fans.
