This women’s association is located in the center of Merzouga, a small town in the southeastern corner of Morocco, and was founded in 2005.  It opened even before the first school in the community, and currently has approximately 24 members.

These enthusiastic ladies are keen to empower rural women by providing them with valuable skills like sewing, carpet weaving and dress-making.  And taking it one step further by providing the opportunity to sell their products and creating financial independence.

The association also recognizes the importance of early education and has set a goal to establish a pre-school program for community children and provide field trips to nearby attractions, expanding the horizons of these young learners.
