We’ve seen Amboseli Primary School flourish since we began our partnership.

In 2010, it was a low performing school, ranked #67 of 90 schools in theregion. By 2017, it ranked #3, and continues to be a top-performing school. In the years we’ve been working with Amboseli, we’ve completed several projects that not only improved school performance, but also helped better the lives of the community at large.

We built the school a new well; restored the water storage tank; provided water filters; and irrigated a garden that grows fruit trees and vegetables. We’ve surrounded the school with a solar-powered electric fence to keep the elephants away.  Scholarships have funded the education of many students—one of whom we saved from being sold into marriage at the age of 11. We built a new dormitory for girls,  and added teacher housing. We renovated the kitchen and provided smokeless cooking pots. Graduating students  receive solar study lights to enable them to study at home, and some received bicycles to ease the distance between here and the nearest Secondary School. And recently we built  the Amboseli Lewis Secondary School on adjacent land to make a secondary education accessible to more students.
