Dear Friend,

Last month, we sent an appeal to our travelers and supporters to help Nepal rebuild after catastrophic flooding left more than 1,400 dead and 6,000 missing. As always, you touched my heart with your outpouring of generosity. Together, you contributed $130,000 in donations. Combined with a $50,000 matching gift from Grand Circle Foundation,

We have raised $180,000 to help families and communities in Nepal.

As I mentioned in my initial appeal, we are working with trusted partners on the ground in Nepal to ensure every dollar goes directly to the people based on immediate needs. We are also looking at how best to help in the long term, especially with educational needs like school buildings. Together with the Yeti Foundation and Himalayan Trust Nepal, we are actively assessing the areas of greatest need and identifying additional recovery and rebuilding projects where your donations can have the greatest impact.

So far, we have identified the following priorities:

  • Joint Distribution Committee: We have committed $70,000 to fund a mobile hospital for one year, which will support 400 patients per month.
  • Wine to Water: We will purchase drop-down filters and support long-term water system solutions, which are currently under review.
