GCF is thrilled to share a significant update on one of our latest projects at the Batoka Centre of Hope in Zimbabwe. The project, aimed at expanding an innovation hub within the non-formal education center, has already begun to revolutionize the educational landscape in this community
by introducing cutting-edge technology and new opportunities to the community.

Previously, students in the vicinity of the Batoka Centre of Hope had limited access to IT education, resorting to sketching keyboards in the sand due to the lack of computers, electricity, and internet connectivity. However, with the generous support received, the newly established Kubimba Education and Innovation Centre is now able to cater to approximately 400 children, providing them with supplementary teaching, homework support, internet access, and specialized STEM training through the Innovation Hub.

The expansion of the innovation hub not only opens doors to a plethora of opportunities for the students but also serves as a beacon of progress and hope for the entire community. By granting access to state-of-the-art technology and career prospects, the hub is paving the way for a brighter future for individuals previously limited by their circumstances. As a result of this initiative, two young women from the local community have enrolled in a computer coding program through the extended hub, positioning them for one-year internships that could potentially lead to employment opportunities with Apple Inc in the United States, while remaining based in Zimbabwe. This initiative not only offers international career pathways but also highlights the transformative impact of education in reshaping lives and unlocking a world of possibilities.

We are immensely proud of the strides made at the Batoka Centre of Hope and look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of this transformative project.
