50 family baskets, delivered to 37 families monthly

based on amount of family members, in two locations: Santa Esperanza in Pocosol, and San Juan de Penas Blancas.

Covid-19 has stopped the Costa Rican economy and families are unable to have their basic needs covered.  As tourism has stopped all over the world, communities have been affected, especially in countries such as Costa Rica, where the tourism industry represents 6.3% of gross national product (gp). Stopping tour operations, determines directly in the family’s income, decreasing significantly their economies, and affecting the school students and their families. The majority of the families have very little savings, if any.

Basic basket food were delivered to the families during the second week of August and third week of September and will be delivered the last week of October 2020.
