More than 100 associates came together to better the lives of homeless veterans
For the past 14 years, Rebuilding Together Boston has been Grand Circle Corporation's largest community service event, with more than 100 associates and their families working together every April to renovate the home of a neighbor in need.
As a presenting sponsor for Rebuilding Together, Grand Circle is usually given a particularly challenging project—and in 2009, it was a very special one. The New England Center for Homeless Veterans (NECHV) serves more than 1,000 veterans a year—veterans who have battled substance abuse and PTSD, and who are now committed to getting their lives back on track.
One hundred and thirty associates worked tirelessly to renovate the center's main dining hall, repainting walls and installing a drop ceiling to reduce heating costs. As a special surprise, Grand Circle CEO Vince Cook showed off his handy side by building an entertainment center with the help of his son.
This short video commemorates the event, which may have been hard work, but was also a lot of fun—and incredibly rewarding for everyone involved. |
